About Ken Jackson
St. Germain Wisconsin Fishing Guide
Professional Fisherman & Author
Ken Jackson is a researcher and writer for Fishing the North Country Publications. He and his family own and operate Jackson’s Lakeside Cottages on Vilas County’s Little St. Germain Lake. During the open water season he guides the waters of Northern Wisconsin for muskie, bass, and walleye.
A graduate of UW-Stevens Point, Ken has written for such publications as Musky Hunter Magazine, Wisconsin’s Woods and Waters, Wisconsin’s Great Outdoors, Vilas County News Review, and the Lakeland Times. He has also worked as a research writer for Fishing Hot Spots Publications. In June, 2003, he published his first book, "Don't Fish Angry". Since February of 2004, he and Russ Warye have co-authored 8 books on fishing in northern Wisconsin.
Ken fishes all throughout the Midwest and Canada and has been fishing Little St. Germain and surrounding waters since he was 3 years old. 2008 marks his 20th season as a licensed guide in Wisconsin in pursuit of the elusive muskie.
When Ken is not on the water, he travels to speak to various fishing clubs and organizations about tactics and location as it relates to gamefish. Some of his recent seminar subjects include:
- Fishing New Water Successfully
- Making Smart Muskie Decisions
- Productive Muskie Patterns of Northern Wisconsin
- The Greatest Fishing Advice - Muskie Related
- St. Germain’s Unique Fishing Opportunities
- Late Fall Muskie - Cracking the Mystery
Ken is a 3rd generation guide in the footsteps of his father George and Grandfather Art Jackson. He learned from the "ground up" as he started with crappies and learned his way up to muskies under the supervision of the best outdoorsman, his Dad. He now enjoys sharing this gift to young and old alike when they choose to experience a trip to Northern Wisconsin.
